It’s summer, which means it’s the season to be tan, so here are some ways to get a salon-quality tan at home. Some steps by tanning expert, James Read, are to exfoliate 3-4 days before you plan to tan, layer on your tan throughout the day to avoid streaks, use Coconut Tanning Balm or Fool Proof Tanning Mousse for both beginners and seasoned tanners, and stop your tan at the bottom of the neck area and then blend the body and face tans so it looks natural.
- Moisturise on the day of tanning application – and if your skin is particularly dehydrated apply an oil the day before and wash it off before you apply any tanning products.
- To tan hands and feet, wipe left over product from the arms onto the hands and from the legs onto the feet.
- For someone new to tanning, the new Coconut Tanning Balm is very easy to use.
“Apply in front of a mirror so you can see yourself from all angles to make sure you don’t miss any spots.”
